The Suns could go with a shooting guard with this pick. Devin Booker would be great but I have him off the board already. They have unproven shooting guards in Archie Goodwin, Reggie Bullock and Gerald Green. This team already tried to go with a two point guard lineup and that didn’t seem to work so I think they will pass on Cameron Payne.
13) Phoenix Suns – Trey Lyles (PF – Kentucky)
The Suns don’t have a backup power forward or center. Lyles can be an interesting player for this Suns team. He has good mobility for his size and a solid skill set for a power forward. He has a soft touch around the basket and good footwork.
He has enough size to play center in small lineups. He has the ability to make moves off the dribble so he can attack other centers and even power forwards. He has a good feel for the game and will make smart plays.
He’s not an explosive athlete but he uses his body well. He has a strong frame that allows him to get into position on the inside. He has to work on his jumper to be a more consistent threat off the bench.
