The Pacers need a change of pace. Roy Hibbert will most likely opt in for his $15 million player option but that doesn’t mean the Pacers can’t draft another big man.
11) Indiana Pacers – Willie Cauley-Stein (C – Kentucky)
Cauley-Stein has improved dramatically in his three years at Kentucky. He’s a “new-age” type of center; which means he runs the floor very well and is able to guard multiple positions on the defensive end. He guarded every position while at Kentucky this past season. He could learn a lot from Roy Hibbert about verticality.
He is limited offensively but he is working on his mid-range jumper and attacking off the dribble. If he is able to add some offensive moves he will be a steal for the Pacers at this spot.
Although he weighed in at 242 lbs. he has a slim build. Adding some muscle will help him compete on the boards. He has great energy and should be among the rookie leaders in offensive rebounding.
