The Miami Heat needs some youth and talent. They were banged up last year and missed the playoffs. They managed to acquire Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside emerged as a starting center. Dragic likes to play at a fast pace so acquiring another wing could help.
10) Miami Heat – Kelly Oubre (SF – Kansas)
Luol Deng and Dwayne Wade are getting up there in age. Dragic could use another wing to run the floor with him. Oubre brings defense and shooting to the Heat. At 6’7 with a wingspan of 7’2 he can be an elite defender that can guard 1-3. If he puts on the weight maybe he can guard some 4s.
He’s not much of a creator with the ball but he doesn’t need to be in the Heat’s system. He can learn to move without the ball to get easy basket. In the open floor he can spot up for three or finish at the rim.
The veteran leadership on the Heat would be great for Oubre. He wasn’t always consistent while at Kansas. He won’t have to be the go-to guy for Miami and he can learn to fit in.
It remains to be seen if Deng will opt in or out of his deal. Either way Oubre can be there to step in and replace him.
