Oct 28 NBA games to watch

There are 14 games on the schedule tonight. The first game on ESPN will have the San Antonio Spurs visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder. We get to see LaMarcus Aldridge in his first regular season game and we get the return of Kevin Durant. It should be a fun and exciting game. The second game of the night will have the Minnesota Timberwolves visiting the Los Angeles Lakers. This does not have the same excitement as the first game but we get to see number 1 pick Karl-Anthony Towns and we also get the return of Kobe Bryant. The Timberwolves might be fun to watch this season; Rubio is a great passer and he can throw lobs to Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine and Towns.

Aside from the ESPN games these are some games that I would check out:

John Wall and the Wizards take on Elfrid Payton and the Magic.

Washington Wizards @ Orlando Magic 7:00 pm

John Wall is one of the most exciting players in this league. The Wizards are supposed to play with more tempo this season and that will showcase Wall’s amazing abilities. Washington should be one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference. I expect a big season from Bradley Beal. The Wiz are expected to shoot more threes and less mid-range shots and that should help Beal; a guy who shot 40% from three last season.

On the other side the Magic have a young athletic team that should be fun to watch. Victor Oladipo is an emerging star at the shooting guard position. Aaron Gordon plays defense but can also get out on the break to finish above the rim. Elfrid Payton played better as the season went on and will have his hands full with John Wall. The player to watch for is rookie Mario Hezonja. The guy will have plenty of highlight plays this season and he should be an irrational confidence guy for this team.

Charlotte Hornets @ Miami Heat 7:30 pm

I would be more excited for this game if Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was playing. He might miss the season after being injured in the preseason. Charlotte did add new pieces in Nicolas Batum, Jeremy Lamb and Jeremy Lin. Batum is a veteran who will help Kemba Walker because the offense can be run through him at times. It will be interesting to see if rookie Frank Kaminsky can contribute for this team. Big Al is healthy and will need to lead this Hornets team.

For Miami Heat fans they will finally see Chris Bosh and Goran Dragic play in a regular season game together. Bosh missed the second half of last season after the Heat acquired Dragic from the Suns. This Heat team has depth and could make some noise in the Eastern Conference if they are healthy. We will see if Hassan Whiteside can play well for a full season. Rookie Justise Winslow might be the steal of the draft. Gerald Green played well in the preseason and he can always throw down a highlight dunk.

Chris Paul and the Clippers start the season against DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Sacramento Kings 10:00 pm

For a late game I would check out the Clips-Kings matchup. The Clippers are a fun team to watch and they added depth. We get lob city plus Paul Pierce, Lance Stephenson and Jamal Crawford. They should put up plenty of points with a lot of highlights. Blake Griffin is a much improved playmaker so watch out for him on the break to be the passer instead of finisher.

The Kings will be interesting to watch all season because there are so many storylines. Can George Karl get along with DeMarcus Cousins? Can Karl get the old Rondo back? If you haven’t seen Cousins play you should watch this massive man move around the court. He will have a good matchup against DeAndre Jordan but should put up big numbers. Rookie Willie Cauley-Stein will be fun to watch on the defensive end as he guards multiple positions. The Kings have an irrational guy in Marco Belinelli and he can get hot quick.
