Emeka Okafor was taken after Dwight Howard in the 2004 draft. Okafor went on to win Rookie of the Year over Howard. He has not been a dominate star but he was a good role player. Career averages of 12 pts, 9 rebs and 1 blk is good. He has battled injuries throughout his career and missed the entire season last year.
With all that said teams are interested in the 31 year old. He is a good offensive rebounder and protects the rim. He does not need the ball to be effective on the floor.
It turns out the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in him. Both teams lack big man depth and rim protection. His signing probably won’t make headlines but if he is healthy he will be a contributor to either one of those teams.
