The Philadelphia 76ers finally won a game last night to avoid a record-tying 0-18 start. It was an ugly game as the Sixers only scored nine points in the second quarter and yet found a way to win. Last season this team lost a record-tying 26 straight games.
76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams said, “For me personally, I think it’s a big relief off my chest…and the same is for the rest of the guys now that we got a win.” Of course this team would get a win on the road and now we must wait to see if they can actually win a game at home. The Sixers fans deserve better than this. Is it really a big relief for this team to finally get one win on the season?
The tanking must continue for the 76ers this season. At this point I don’t think this Sixers team will come close to the 19 games the team won last season. This team should not be happy about one win on the season. The team is not trying to win many games and we all know that.
If they wanted to try to win games they would have drafted two players in June that would actually play this season.
Now that they got their first win they can start a new losing streak. They want to lose and that is embarrassing.
The Sixers play again on Friday night at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Let’s see if they can win one at home for their fans that have to endure another terrible season. This will be Kevin Durant’s second game back and he might put on a show for the fans.
The Sixers can feel relief when they go on a winning streak. Winning one game in a long season means nothing if you go on another 17 game losing streak.
It feels so good to win but how many games will they win this season? They over- performed last season winning 19 games. Single digit wins is still possible for this team. Now that they have one win they must avoid another 26 game losing streak.
