Kevin Durant returns; did the Thunder rush him back?

Kevin Durant is making his season debut tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Durant has only missed 17 games so far and the Thunder are 5-12 during that time. Thunder coach Scott Brooks has stated that Durant will play around 30 minutes tonight.

I wonder if the Thunder did not lose Russell Westbrook and had a better record, would Kevin Durant be suiting up right now?

The Thunder are in the bottom four record wise in the Western Conference. Durant and Westbrook will soon change that as Oklahoma City is 14-1 in its past 15 games with both Westbrook and Durant on the floor.

They will be playing catchup to get back into the playoff picture but this team can easily string together 10 wins. OKC is dead last in scoring, averaging only 90 points per game. Even in limited minutes Durant will improve that immediately.

The Thunder’s upcoming schedule is fairly easy and will allow the team rack up some wins as they implement some new offensive plays that feature Westbrook and Durant.

The West has gotten better and hopefully the Thunder didn’t panic to bring Durant back quicker.
