Cavs open against Knicks/ Clips open against Thunder

New York Knicks @ Cleveland Cavaliers (TNT) 8 pm

The Cavs trio start their journey tonight against the Knicks.

This might be the biggest season opener. LeBron James makes his return for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavs have a lot of new pieces and a new head coach. They need time to grow together but they will play well tonight. LeBron is a different type of leader at this point in his career. Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving will have big games as well.

The New York Knicks were embarrassed in their home opener. They seemed to give up in the second half against the Bulls. Their triangle offense looked slow and most players were confused. Stoudemire looked good, Carmelo did not force the issue but the Knicks have a long way to go.

The crowd will go crazy for the Cavs tonight. The atmosphere will be electric and LeBron will not disappoint. He will control the game and lead the Cavs to a convincing victory over the Knicks who played last night.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Los Angeles Clippers (TNT) 10:30 pm

Is this the start of a Championship season for the Clippers?

The league is not doing any favors for the Oklahoma City Thunder as they head to Los Angeles for the Clippers home opener.

This game is more about the new ownership for the Clippers. Tonight marks the first game for the Clips under Steve Ballmer, the man that paid $2 billion for the team back in May.

The Thunder are banged up and Russell Westbrook did all he could last night against the Blazers but it wasn’t enough. He scored 38 points but he was fatigued at the end as the Blazers pulled away. The same thing will happen tonight against the Clippers.

The Clippers are healthy and have a lot of depth. They will come in waves with Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Jamal Crawford and DeAndre Jordan. The crowd will get louder after each dunk by Griffin and Jordan and they will run the Thunder out of the building in the second half.

We will see a much more reserved and calmer Westbrook tonight. He will look to get Serge Ibaka more involved and then score when needed. Ibaka had his hands full trying to stop LaMarcus Aldridge and only scored 10 points. Look for him to have a better game. The back to back games will get to them in the second half as the Clippers go on a run. Griffin will have a big game to lead the Clips to a double digit victory.
